The 1 Hart 1 Mind 1 Future organisation has never looked stronger as it continues its mission to influence and shape local disabled services in town.
In the next few weeks alone, it will be holding a major conference, half term activities and an outing to Carlton Camp. All that and more has led to the group being nominated for a Best of Hartlepool Award, in the Volunteer of the Year category.

This year’s nomination was submitted to pay tribute to group members who all give their time voluntarily. It read: “I feel the steering group and members deserve this recognition for their dedication, hard work and time spent improving services and our community in Hartlepool.”
Member and parent Christine Fewster said: “If it was not for the steering group, we would probably not be here today. It is all through their dedication.”
Christine said: “To win an award would be unbelievable. The biggest thing is it would show the group that their work is recognised.
