Hartlepool lifeboat scrambled to evacuate injured woman from beach

An RNLI spokesman said: "Hartlepool RNLI volunteer crewmembers were paged at 4.11pm to assist the local Coastguard team with a female casualty who had suffered a leg injury on the beach near the sandy car park at Seaton Carew.

"The inshore lifeboat launched at 4.20pm and was on scene at 4.30pm where a crew member went ashore to administer pain relief to the casualty.

"An ambulance arrived to take the casualty to hospital and the inshore lifeboat returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station at 5pm and was refuelled and made ready for service by 5.20pm."
