Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat rescues five people after boat breaks down in early hours
The volunteers were paged at 1.40am today, Sunday, December 22, by Humber Coastguard to assist a 15ft boat with five people on board that had suffered mechanical failure approximately a quarter of a mile off Hartlepool near Longscar Buoy.
The all-weather lifeboat launched at 1.50am and was alongside the casualty a short time later after which it was then towed to Kafiga Landings at the Headland, Hartlepool.

Hide AdA spokesman said the all-weather lifeboat returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station at 2.20am and was refuelled and made ready for service by 2.35am allowing some of the volunteer crew members to go home and get some sleep before going out to do their last-minute Christmas shopping.
