Hartlepool siblings raise cash for hospital unit

Two thoughtful children helped raise more than £300 for the chemotherapy unit at the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

Flynn Beach and sister Isla did the Junior Great North Run in appreciation for the care given to a family and a close friend.

Flynn and Isla wanted to buy items for the chemotherapy unit’s new family room.

After collecxting their sponsorship money in they went to Tesco in Belle Vue, Hartlepool, with a list of items they could afford, including a 42in smart TV.

Proud mum Tanya said: “Flynn helped to pen a letter to Tesco to let them know the plans, while Isla added artwork to it.

“We got a call from Selina at Tesco a few days later. We couldn’t believe how generous they were.

“They supplied a new coffee machine and DAB radio, among other items. I am so proud of the kids and Selina for helping.”
