Pro-active, in conjunction with National Apprenticeship Week, is looking for a new “cohort” of 90 students who would sign up for the summer course on bricklaying. There would be 60 apprenticeships on offer at the end of the course.
The open evening will also give potential students a chance to talk to some of the tutors and managers who work at the Pro-active base which is on the Parkview Industrial Estate, in Prospect Way.
Then, on April 1, Pro-active will be holding a taster day where would-be students can get hands on experience with some of the industry’s top construction tradesmen.

Pro-active has also entered into a partnership with Peterlee-based training provider Profound Group for similar facilities to operate in East Durham.
It would offer the same courses and mean 180 more posts - and almost 20 students have already been taken on. Pro-active Training works with Brickwork Services Ltd, which supplies bricklayers to construction companies.
