Hartlepool United crash out of FA Cup at Morecambe: How the players rated

Scott Loach: A couple of smashing saves, but what do you expect from the National League's top keeper? An unlucky OG late on after being let down by the players in front of him. 7

Kenton Richardson: Teenager made a decent first start of the season. Saw a lot of the ball and got forward well. 6

Louis Laing: A good run of form was ended with a below-par display, with weak clearances leading to goals one and three. 5

Liam Donnelly: Some good defensive work but went into the book for an old-fashioned ‘ball and man tackle’ and will now serve a one-game ban. 6

Blair Adams: Provided good width down the left and always looked to get on his bike and get crosses in. 6

Luke George: Got stuck in with a few tackles but often found himself falling foul of the referee, sometimes unjustly, sometimes correctly. 6

Nicky Featherstone: Tried his best to keep Pools going forward and was even seen in the opposition box. Booked after being forced to haul down a Shrimp after losing the ball. 6

Jonathan Franks: One of the bright spots for Pools. A constant danger out wide and then when move inside saw the home goalie keep out his volley. 7

Michael Woods: In the wars in the first half and was chopped down as he was heading into the area to give Pools a great free-kick opportunity. Subbed to allow an extra attacker on. 6

Nicky Deverdics: Unable to reprise his recent free-kick brilliance from that position, but looked to make things happen from the left and right. 6

Rhys Oates: Could not recreate last week’s heroics at Torquay. Struggled to make any impact through middle though looked better in a brief spell down the left. His misdirected header inadvertently set up Morecambe’s second. 5
