Hartlepool United's Liam Donnelly grabs late Northern Ireland winner in Estonia

Hartlepool United's Liam Donnelly kept his cool to slot home an injury-time penalty to clinch a 2-1 European Championships qualifier win in Estonia for Northern Ireland Under-21s.

The Pools defender converted from 12 yards in the fourth minute of added-on time to hand his team three points from the opening game of their qualifying campaign.

Donnelly captains the Under-21 side and his late goal ensured that manager Ian Baraclough got off to the perfect start in his first game in charge.

Sheffield United’s David Parkhouse had earlier levelled the scoring for Northern Ireland after Rauno Sappinen had put hosts Estonia in front in Talinn.

The Green and White Army’s Under-21 side will also come up against Albania, Iceland, Slovakia and Spain as they bid to reach the 2019 Euro Championship Finals, which which will be held in Italy and San Marino
