Hundreds of Hartlepool properties affected by power cut

A total of 693 properties in the TS25 area were affected by the outage which happened at 8am on Wednesday.

Northern Powergrid said electricity had ben restored to all properties affected by 12.25pm.

But a further 120 properties in the TS24 and TS26 postcodes are also said to be without power after an unplanned cut at about 11.30am.

Northern Powergrid say on their website: “The power cut affecting your property has been caused by a problem with one of our underground cables.

“Our team are working hard to restore your power as quickly as possible.”

The company says it is due to go back on by 8pm.
