Identifying mystery ship
The ship in Memory Lane (Mail, February 27) is called the Dixcove.
It was built in 1959 for Elder Dempster of Liverpool.
The ship build number was 1296 and it was 8138 ton.
It is featured in Shipbuilders of the Hartlepools by Bert Spalding, which was published in 1986.
