The school says the man could not get into the main school building due to their security measures.

Headteacher Jeff Cook said: “I can confirm someone entered the main reception area of the school at around 7.30am on Thursday, January 14.

“The person could not get into the school building because of the security measures we have in place to protect all of our pupils and staff.

“The intruder appeared to be attempting to remove the charity box and a member of staff asked them to leave, which they did after placing the charity box back.

“No children were on site at the time and the matter has been reported to the police.”
