It's nonsense

Among the daily scare-mongering stories being put out by the pro-EU Remain campaign, which seem to be given wall-to-wall coverage by the BBC, I would like to pick out one, which illustrates perfectly the sheer nonsense of its claims of doom and gloom should we decide to vote to leave the EU on June 23.

Paul Kahn, the President of Airbus Group UK, announced that if we leave the EU, investment in the group “could be redirected to the USA and China”.

I needn’t remind readers that the USA and China are not currently in the EU, nor are they likely to be after June 23.

This case, and there are countless others, highlights the sheer hysteria of those who would keep us shackled to the EU, and needs no further comment.

What is happening now in this referendum campaign is very reminiscent of the phoney arguments of those who were telling us that the “sky would fall in” and we would sink without trace if we didn’t join the euro.

Remember that debate?

One of the key contributors to the pro-euro cause was James Dyson, the vacuum cleaner magnate.

He warned that he would have to consider relocating his business if we didn’t enter the single currency.

Well, thankfully we didn’t join the euro.

And true to his word a couple of years later he did move his business from the UK – to Malaysia.

Now, I’ve checked this out and I can confirm that Malaysia is not in the eurozone.
