'It's the pain of not knowing he is safe' - Mum of missing man Mark Reid issues heartfelt plea for son to return home

The mother of Mark Reid who went missing while visiting family in Hartlepool has issued an emotional plea for help to find her son.

Mark Reid – who is also known as Clease – is from London but went missing after visiting family in Hartlepool on Tuesday, June 30.

The 43-year-old had told relatives he was going to the Seaton Carew area, but didn't return.

Police believe he could be anywhere in the country.

Cleveland Police has been appealing for information to help find Mark since the early hours of Sunday, July 12.

The appeal was shared by Durham Constabulary and now Mark’s mother, Karen Barber, has issued her own plea for her son to return home safe.

Marks mother Karen said: “Mark is my only son and I have not slept with worry. It’s the pain of not knowing if he is safe and well.

“The whole family love Mark and all we are wanting is for him to make contact to state he is OK.

"We are appealing for anyone who might know where Mark is or who may of seen him to please contact police.”

Mark is described as being of slim build, 5 ft 11 ins tall, with long hair, which may be combed back. Sometimes he wears a cap.

He has name tattoos on his chest. It's not known what he was last seen wearing.

Anyone with information on Mark's whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
