Joint lifeboat rescue operation to bring stricken boat back to Hartlepool

A joint rescue operation was carried out by two lifeboat crews to bring a fishing vessel back to Hartlepool.

Staithes and Runswick RNLI was launched at 12.15pm today to help the boat from Hartlepool which had broken down four miles off the coast of Staithes.

The team found the boat and towed it towards the River Tees.

They were met by the lifeboat crew from Hartlepool who towed the vessel back to the town.
