Leading role?

What utter tosh from Peter Morris (Mail, February 24) regarding Brexit.

He said: “Are we going to betray our long, proud tradition of engagement with Europe by retreating into isolation?

“... Or are we going to take the leading role of which we are capable and play our full in helping overcome economic, security and defence dangers we all face ...?”

Leading role?

Britain has never had a leading role in the EU, nor will we ever.

Has he forgotten the failed CAP, the failed CFP, the millions of pounds’ damage caused by the fact that the EU prevented us from dredging our rivers, that we can’t make our own laws, and we must obey all the stupid laws from the EU?

Straight bananas, straight cucumbers!

Leading role? Don’t make me laugh.

Oh I nearly forgot.

It costs Britain £350million a week to be told what to do by a bunch of faceless no-accounts run by Germany and, to a lesser degree, France.
