Man assaulted outside Hartlepool supermarket

A man suffered injuries to his ear and head when he was attacked outside a Hartlepool supermarket.

At around 5.15pm yesterday, a man in his 50s was waiting at the entrance of Morrison’s car park on Clarence Road.

Two men pulled up in a car which was thought to have been either an Astra or Corsa.

The passenger got out and verbally abused the victim then went on to punch him repeatedly around the head and body. He then got back into the car and drove off towards the football stadium.

The suspect was described as around 17-years-old, of a large build with short mousy hair. He was approximately 6’ tall and was wearing a t-shirt and jogging bottoms. The driver of the car was believed to be in his twenties, of slim build with dark hair
