Man left with fractured jaw after being attacked in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after a 29-year-old man was attacked by two men in Hartlepool.

The man was walking through the recreational ground in the direction of Waverley Terrace from Trentbrooke Avenue in Hartlepool around 8.30pm on April 3 when two men approached the victim and asked him for a cigarette.

One of the men then punched the victim in the face causing him to fall to the ground and then both the men kicked him whilst he was on the floor.

The victim managed to run off and later attended James Cook University Hospital where he was treated for a fractured jaw in two places.

The two men responsible are described as white and aged in their mid-twenties. One of the men was wearing a dark tracksuit and the other had a white jacket on and grey bottoms.
