Man set to appear in court charged with urinating on a Hartlepool war memorial
The Mail reported last weekend that a person was allegedly seen carrying out the act at the main plinth of the memorial, in Victory Square.
A 31-year-old man has now been summoned to attend a hearing at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “We had a 31-year-old male who was interviewed voluntarily.
“He has been summoned to court for allegedly urinating in a public place.”
The Mail would like to clarify that the Friends of Victory Square group campaigner Martin Sharp is not hunting the perpetrator himself, but brought the alleged incident to the attention of the police who launched a probe.
