March of the Mods returns to Hartlepool for third year

Fans of Mod music and fashion will soon be on the march to Hartlepool for a popular charity event.

The third annual March of the Mods will be held at The Staincliffe Hotel at Seaton Carew, in March and is set to raise thousands of pounds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Those attending will certainly not be short of groups to watch and listen to as the line-up, featuring more than 20 bands and performers, has been announced.

Organiser and musician Kev McGuire, of The Style Selektors who will be performing, said: “It’s going to be another fantastic event for the town with all proceeds going to The Teenage Cancer Trust.

“This is the third event for Hartlepool March Of The Mods and is by far the best event in Hartlepool alongside the Hartlepool Summer Weekender.”

Just a few of the acts in the line up of artists includes The Whodlums, Target 5, The Get-Go, The Finetimes, Ordinary Affair, Heavy Jets, Tempted, The Lemontops and The Middens.

Local solo performers Mark Simpson, Charlie Campbell and Marc Culley will also take to the stage.

The date for diaries is Saturday, March 19, from 3pm.

Last year, Bruce McPherson won a Lambretta GP200 in a raffle for just £20 and this year someone will drive away with a Mini Cooper Convertible for the same price.

March of the Mods in Hartlepool has raised over £30,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust over the last two years.
