Middlesbrough's search to find a replacement for Adama Traore continues to rumble on.

Tony Pulis wasn't able to fill the void left by the speedy wideman in the final week of the transfer window, following Traore's big-money move to Wolves.

However, Boro still have time to solve the issue, with EFL clubs still allowed to sign players on loan until August 31.

And the transfer rumours haven't stopped, after Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard was linked with a move to the Riverside.

According to TEAMtalk, Boro are among a number of Championship clubs who have been offered the 19-year-old attacking midfielder, along with Derby and Aston Villa.

Odegaard, who spent last season on loan at Dutch side Heerenveen, could operate in one of the forward positions alongside striker Britt Assombalonga in Pulis' preferred 4-3-3 formation.

However, the Norwegian's wages could be an issue.

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie is also on Pulis' radar after Boro's attempts to sign the 29-year-old permanently stalled before last Thursday's deadline.

A loan move is still a possibility, with Bolasie currently out of favour at Goodison Park following the arrivals of Richarlison and Bernard on Merseyside.

Pulis also knows the player well following their time together at Crystal Palace.

The Boro boss didn't hide his frustration after the club failed to make a single signing on transfer deadline day.

And he will still be keen to add reinforcements to his squad, following the sales of Traore, Ben Gibson and Patrick Bamford.

Even so, Boro have coped well without the trio, picking up seven points out of a possible nine to start the season.

The Teessiders could have scored more goals against Birmingham City, led by their former manager Garry Monk, at the weekend.

Still, over a long and gruelling 46-game season, it is likely Boro will still need more players to manage a demanding schedule.

Pulis may choose to rest players when Boro host Notts County in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, ahead of Saturday's trip to Bristol City.
