The Teessiders will once again enter an under-21 side in the tournament, and will take on three football league sides during the group stages

And, following today's draw at Wembley Stadium, Boro have been placed in Northern Group E alongside Burton Albion, Port Vale and Walsall.

Match dates for the group stages are as follows:

Match 1 - w/c 3 September 2018

Match 2 - w/c 8 October 2018

Match 3 - w/c 12 November 2018

Dates could be changed depending upon progress in the Carabao Cup.
