Motorists warned of overnight road closures at junction of A689 and A19

MOTORISTS are being warned about overnight road closures during an ongoing improvements scheme.

Overnight carriageway resurfacing works are taking place on the A689 Coal Lane eastbound, from the Wolviston Services roundabout to the A689/A19 roundabout exit and including the north half of the roundabout.

The closures will be carried out all this week and next week between 8pm and 6am.

The scheme forms part of the Highways Agency’s A19/A689 Wolviston Interchange pinch point scheme.

It aims to reduce congestion and improve the merge of the A689 southbound entry slip road and the A19, widen the A689 west approach to the roundabout to Coal Lane, introduce traffic signal control and a new puffin crossing on the A689 Coal Lane to the east of the Wolviston Services roundabout.
