11 photos from a deserted Hartlepool on first day of new lockdown

As of Tuesday, January 5, Hartlepool and the rest of the United Kingdom has returned to lockdown.

Non-essential retailers and gyms were already closed due to the North East’s Tier 4 restrictions, and now schools have joined them.

With people told to work from home unless they cannot, Hartlepool was once again all but deserted this morning.

Our photographers captured these images of an eerily quiet town.
