Neighbours strike it lucky in postcode lottery

Peterlee proved lucky for the second time in a matter of weeks as six people in Dickins Walk won £1,000 each when their postcode was announced as a Daily Prize winner on Tuesday April 28.

Four people, from Bruce Kirkup Road in the town also netted £1,000 each when their postcode came up on Thursday, April 23. 

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the Dickins Walk winners.

He said: “Congratulations to our winners! What a great surprise for them, I hope they treat themselves to something nice with their winnings.”

Around a third of People’s Postcode Lottery ticket sales goes directly to charity and the draw was promoted by Oxfam which has received over £9.6 million in funding.

Local charities can next apply for funding in August.
