Matthew Bates’ men head to the Gallagher Stadium (3pm kick-off) looking to extend their own four-game unbeaten run.

But Wynter is determined to make it tough for Bates & Co. He says it will be no easy ride with both teams battling to avoid the drop at the bottom end of the National League table.

On his side’s recent success, Wynter said: “It’s a much easier changing room to be in.

“It’s much easier to go home, your weekends are better, it’s crazy what winning can do.

“We take it home with us when things don’t go well, we care, we live it, so winning’s always nice.

“It was puzzling because I don’t think we were playing any worse than we were at the beginning of the season when we were on a good run.

“It took a while to get out of it but we did and now we just want to look forward.”

The Stones are unbeaten in their last three games on home turf, so Pools will again have to produce the goods on their travels if their recent upturn in fortunes is to not come crashing down this Easter weekend.

Ahead of today’s encounter, in which youngster Josh Hawkes looks set to make only his second start, manager Jay Saunders hints Pools must keep an eye out for one his own young stars.

“Michael Phillips had a good game. He wasn’t fazed by it,” Saunders said after the former Crystal Palace kid made his debut.

“He’s a good player, so I’m pleased for him and I think he’ll go on and be a good asset for us.”
