New: Daniel Kindberg discusses potential Hartlepool United takeover

The chairman of Allsvenskan outfit Ostersunds, who take on Arsenal in the last 32 of the Europa League next month, has expressed his interest in getting involved at Pools in an interview back in his homeland last week.

In that interview, he set a deadline of January 24 to decide whether he would pursue his interest in the National League outfit.

He has moved to distance himself from the Swedish consortium who had been looking at taking over at Victoria Park.

But he did not 100% rule himself out of the running.

“I haven’t been deeply in the process,” he said.

“Some people approached me and Hartlepool is the kind of club that has a fantastic fanbase and passionate fans.

“These are both very important things, but, on the other hand, I have a lot of things going on right now. It is a consortium that contacted me.

“I’m not really sure that it would suit me, but you never know.”

As yet, it is not known whether just Kindberg or the whole Scandinavian consortium could walk away.

With Kindberg on board, the Swedes were one of seven parties to sign non-disclosure agreements and provide proof of funds totalling £3million.

Earlier this week, Hartlepool businessman Chris Musgrave pulled out of a potential deal.

It’s understood that was due to a number of concerns with Pools’ books, as well as not receiving the correct information to proceed with the purchase.
