Newport County 0 Hartlepool United 0: Recap the action as Pools extend unbeaten run

Pools had gone into the game hoping to make it three straight League Two wins, but had to settle for a point after another decent performance.

Craig Hignett's side were hoping to build on the 3-1 victories over Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Jake Gray was lively in attack for Pools, hitting the side netting at the start of the second half, and forcing the home goalkeeper Joe Day into a save late on.

Pools were by far the better side, with Trevor Carson in their goal only being called upon a handful of times, dealing comfortably with what was thrown at him.

In the end, it was a deserved point for Hignett’s men, who move up to 21st in the table.
