Night to remember our princess Becky Bell

Plans are progressing well for the Becky Bell memorial night as the fourth anniversary of her tragic death approaches.

Becky, who was just seven years old, lost a brave battle against cancer on January 20, 2012.

Her family have since kept her memory alive with a series of fundraisers that have raised tens of thousands of pounds for various cancer charities.

Proceeds from the upcoming memorial night will go to the website keepsmilingforbecky.com, which acts as a lasting legacy to Becky and helps families of other terminally-ill children.

Becky’s mum Julie Bell, of Rift House, Hartlepol, said: “When families of terminally ill children have long stays in hospital it can take its toll financially and that’s where we come in.

“We raise money to make children’s wishes come true. We have helped a young girl have a spa day and a little boy got to go to LegoLand. We even helped to pay one family’s mortgage.

“The more we raise, the more children we can help.”

Becky’s Memorial Night is on Saturday, January 30, at the Catholic Club in Marlowe Road, from 7pm to 11.30pm.

It will feature group Leroy Johnson and The Flicks, fun and games, bingo, raffles, alcoholic tombola, party games, and more. The night is for adults only and tickets are £4.
