Northern Ireland's ex-Sunderland keeper Trevor Carson is Hartlepool United Player of the Year

The in-form keeper walked away with Players' Player of the Year and the Supporters Player of the Year trophies at the Grand Hotel, plus the Community Player of the Year.

It is the second year in a row the Northern Ireland international has taken such an accolade.

Carson was voted Cheltenham Town's Supporters' Player of the Year for 2014-15.

However, this season has at least had a happy ending for the 28-year-old - he could not save Cheltenham from relegation, but his glovework has been key to Pools transforming their fortunes.

Carson was in great form during the seven-match unbeaten run from March into April, a sequence which included four successive clean sheets.

He beat Billy Paynter and Matthew Bates to both bits of silverware with the top scorer and centre-half second and third in each category.

He also took the Community Player of the Year award for his charity work. He is trying to raise money for his sister-in-law Melanie Harthshorn who needs life-saving surgery.

Skipper Billy Paynter took the Away Player of the Year, as voted by Pools fans.

Defender Adam Jackson, who has spent much of the season on loan from Middlesbrough, was named as Young Player of the Year.

The 21-year-old, wanted by boss Craig Hignett for next season, has been outstanding at the heart of the defence alongside Matthew Bates.

A new award was instituted this year to recognise long-term service and contribution to Pools.

The Ken Johnson Trophy was presented to Development coach Sam Collins.

The giant centre-half has been with Pools since 2008, making 269 appearances while working twice as a caretaker manager.

He was Ronnie Moore's right-hand man before moving on to coach the club's U21 players.
