Brierton teaching staff from 1966 and students from St Francis RC School enjoying a spring fair in 1978 are among those featured.

An old Mail photo from the 1950s, showing St Cuthbert’s pupils having fun at Seaton Baths, should bring back some memories too.

But today’s pride of place is reserved for members of Elwick Road School Choir, who all looked very smart in this photo from 1968.

“I was at this school from 1968-1972 and had a brilliant time there,” said Pam Summers, who provided the picture.

“The choir mistress, Marjorie Richardson, was a fantastic teacher, I still receive a Christmas card from her.”
