One person taken to hospital after multi-vehicle accidents on A19 near Hartlepool

One person was taken to hospital after a series of multi-vehicle collisions on the A19 near Hartlepool.

Emergency services were called to a stretch of the road near Hutton Henry after accidents on both carriageways shortly before lunchtime today, Saturday, December 5.

Several people required treatment but only one needed to be taken to hospital.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed the service had attended and a number of casualties had been treated at the scene but there had been no serious injuries in any of the collisions on either carriageway: “We got a call at about half past eleven this morning to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the A19, with incidents on both the north and southbound carriageways.

"We dispatched an ambulance and a rapid response paramedic, who were able to treat everyone at the scene.

"One patient was taken to North Tees Hospital with minor injuries.”
