'Get the job done' – What Mail readers think about the Brexit transition period

The post-Brexit transition period will run out on New Year’s Eve – and time is running out to strike a deal with the EU, which would cover everything from trade to the movement of people across the continent.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic still causing chaos across the world, we asked the Mail readers for their opinions on extending the Brexit transition period with a view to securing a deal for the future.

Carol Burton: “No way should it be extended, they’ve dragged it out for far too long already. Deal or no deal, we leave the EU on December 31.”

Jeanna Osborne: “No, get the job done.”

Mike Wilson: “No, just another excuse to delay.”

Dot Flounders: “Definitely not, it's gone on long enough.”

NJ Ross: “Yes, but only to finalise the agreement with the EU. No to no deal.”

Graeme Scott: “Nope, get on with it. The EU is just cutting nose off to spite its face.”

Chris Kenny: “Not a prayer, no deal all of the way.”

Bryan Littler: “No, bring it forward.”

Erik van den Biggelaar: “Please get it done now. This has taken too long.”

Rea Brookes: “Just get it over with.”

Kevin Guffick: “No way. Get it done waited far too long, just leave.”
