People Centre can help Hartlepool folk with job or skills

Help is at hand for people looking to find a job or improve their skills.

The People Centre in Raby Road in Hartlepool – working in partnership with the National Careers Service – is holding appointments to help people with developing their CV.

The help also includes support in searching and applying for jobs, understanding the job market and searching for courses and training.

Sessions are open to anyone aged 19 or over, or anyone who is 18 and on Jobseeker’s Allowance and who needs information, advice and guidance to help them make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities.

Lin Craddy, from the People Centre, explained more about the help that is available through the National Careers Service.

She said it can include help to develop a CV, to search and apply for jobs, understand the job market and search for courses and training schemes.

It can also include finding funding to support any learning, identifying key strengths and skills, exploring career options, choosing training routes to fit an individual’s lifestyle, and dveeloping an action plan to help people achieve their goals.

Anyone wanting a one-to-one appointment with a careers adviser should book a place through the centre’s reception. Appointments are available at 9.30 am, 10.30 am, 11.30pm 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
