There was lots of sunshine over Hartlepool and Seaton Carew on the first day the latest easing of the lockdown came into effect.

Monday June 1 was the first day of summer, and also the first day of new eased lockdown rules which people can meet with others they do not live with outdoors and in gardens. up to a limit of six people.

Mail photographer Frank Reid paid a morning visit to Seaton Carew to see how many people were taking advantage of the new rules.

Despite the bright sunshine, people did not rush to the resort.

Although lots of people were out and about there were no crowds as has been seen in some parts of the country, with lots of room on Seaton’s promenade and beach.

Seaton’s (Sandy) coach car park reopened to the public last week, but others remain closed as Hartlepool Borough Council urges people not to rush to the coast just yet.
