Prime Minister Boris Johnson made the first of three visits to the town as the Conservatives sought to turn the town from red to blue.
He surprised people at the Fens with an impromptu walkabout after first visiting Hart Biologicals.
Elsewhere, shops, hairdressers and hospitality venues celebrated being able to serve outdoors under a gradual lifting of lockdown measures that had been in place since the start of the year.
