Brothers of Dance leave The Greatest Dancer after a powerful military inspired performance and Geordie dance captain Cheryl thanks the group from the bottom of her heart for working so hard.

Tonight, on Saturday, February 29, contestants Brothers of Dance performed in the semi-finals on the on BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer.

Kieran Price, 20 from Blackhall Rocks is part of the contemporary dance group who were chosen by Geordie dance captain, Cheryl to mentor during the show.

The group of nine has received overwhelming support since their audition, which has continued to grow since their first live performance and week by week they have continued to amaze both the audience and judges.

This week the judges have chosen the theme for their dancers, for Brothers of Dance, Cheryl chose ‘military’.

In the VT we seen Brothers of Dance in rehearsals with Cheryl, who says: “When I watch you on stage, sometimes I think I’m going to pop.

“The strength you can do with numbers – I know you can bring that energy.”

This weeks performance is all about power, and the group say that they are ‘fighting to win’ and after getting negative feedback from Matthew last week, Cheryl added: “We need to shut Matthew down.”

On stage the group wore black military uniforms and used capes as props for a powerful performance.

Todrick Hall said: “I know it’s been a crazy week, but you inspire me so much.” He went on to say how their choreography was great and that he felt like he was at an actually bootcamp but the real thing he loved was their friendship and bond.

Oti Mabuse said: “Energy just bursts out of all of you.” and agreed with Todrick, saying their friendship is so strong.

Matthew Morrison said: “I know I was hard on you last week, but honestly I really enjoyed it and I know you’ve been fighting through so much and you really came up with it.”

Captain, Cheryl commented: “I am honestly so stressed, I don’t even think I saw it.” – Cheryl went on to tell the audience that one member had been hospitalised, and another nearly pulled out of this weeks performance, but said she was proud that all nine made it to the stage tonight.

The received a scored of 92.7% from the audience, but it was down to the public to decide who should leave, and sadly it was time for Brothers of Dance to say goodbye to The Greatest Dancer, along with solo dancer Hannah.

Cheryl stayed with the group on stage, and ended by saying: “I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“I’ve never known anyone whose worked so hard or pushed themselves so hard – thank you.”
