Cleveland Fire Brigade called to KFC on Hartlepool marina after fire in kitchen

Two fire engines from Hartlepool Community Fire Station were dispatched to the fast food restaurant at The Lanyard near Hartlepool marina on Wednesday morning (October 25).
A fryer was destroyed in the incident and there was significant smoke damage to the building.

Hide AdThe fire broke out in the kitchen just after 9.30am, an hour before the restaurant was due to open to customers.
Cleveland Fire Brigade stated: “We were called on 25/10/2023 at 09.33am to an incident at KFC, The Lanyard, Hartlepool Marina. Kitchen fire.
"Two fire engines in attendance from Hartlepool. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel used. 100% fire damage to fryer, 10% fire damage to kitchen and 60% smoke damage to building.”
Crews left the scene just before 10.40am.
People were asked to avoid the area while the brigade dealt with the incident.
