Family remembers 'lovely and caring' Hartlepool man Adam Thomas

Adam Thomas, 21, has been remembered by loved ones as an intelligent and lovely person who was 'as deep as the ocean.'
An inquest into his death was held at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Friday, February 21, led by Senior Coroner Clare Bailey.

Hide AdIt heard how Adam's body was sadly found by police divers at Hartlepool Marina on August 21, 2019.
He had been struggling with his mental health and had suffered with bouts of depression.
A post mortem had been carried out and the medical cause of death was drowning.
Police have confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement in his death.

Hide AdSenior Coroner Miss Bailey came to the conclusion that Adam had died from suicide.
Paying tribute to her son, mum Sara Thomas, said: "He was quirky and intelligent.
"He was very deep, as deep as the ocean. He was a thinker.
"He was really good at playing the guitar and was really into music."
Adam, who worked in advertising, was a former pupil at Dyke House School and had ambitions to go to college and university to study psychology.

Hide AdA family-orientated person, Adam loved his mum, whom he was very close to, and had a close relationship with his family.
He also enjoyed walking his dog Luna.
Known for his generosity, on a number of occasions Adam had helped homeless people in the town, buying them a meal at McDonald’s.
Mum Sara continued: "He had a thing about helping people.
"He was very close to his siblings and very close to his family.
"I will miss his daft smile.
"He was so dry. He was a man of few words but when he did say something, it meant something.
"He was so lovely, so affectionate and so caring."

Hide AdAdam is also remembered by his siblings Jordan Thomas, Luke Richards and Leah Buttery.
He was also a much-loved partner, nephew, grandson and friend to many.
Sara added: “Adam is loved and missed more then words can say.
“We have somehow found the strength to get through the past six months. I have been overwhelmed by the support of my family and friends in helping us cope with the tragic passing of Adam.”
