Firefighters called to house blaze in Hartlepool after fire spreads from nearby fence

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a home in Hartlepool which spread from a nearby fence.

Crews from Hartlepool fire station were called to a property on Thornbury Close in Clavering at 9.44pm on Saturday, February 8, following reports that a fence was on fire.

The fire had spread from the fence to the side of a house which caused damage to the window and door at the side of the house.

The house was also damaged by smoke and the fence was totally destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation to tackle the fire.

A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called at 9.44pm on Saturday, February 8, to reports of a fence on fire which had spread to the side of a house on Thornbury Close, Clavering, Hartlepool.”
