Football fans warned as dispersal order secured ahead of Hartlepool United match against Carlisle United
Police have secured additional legal powers for the next 24 hours as football fans gather for a match this evening.
A dispersal order has been put in place from 3pm on Wednesday, February 25, until 3pm on Thursday, February 26, as Carlisle United fans travel to Hartlepool for a match against Hartlepool United.
The dispersal order covers the Marina and town centre and gives police the power to order groups to leave the area immediately.
Those who fail to comply with the order and return to the area during the specified time period can be arrested.

Members of the public can also expect an increased police presence in the area.
Cleveland Police said in a statement: “We are there to work with the club to help reduce any instances of disorder and antisocial behaviour as well as increase public safety.
“Our officers will be engaging with fans at the stadium, around the Marina and the town centre for reassurance, and will be on hand if you have any concerns."
