Hartlepool communities invited to bid for £200,000 Pride in Place funding
Communities and organisations are being invited to apply for funding for projects addressing local priorities across Hartlepool.
Up to £200,000 of capital funding is available as Hartlepool’s ten-year £20 million Pride in Place programme moves to its next phase.
Project leaders have issued an open call for “ambitious proposals” that can make a lasting change to the town.
Malcolm Walker, chair of the Hartlepool Board, which is leading the government’s Pride in Place locally, said: “This is an exciting moment for Pride in Place because we are moving from listening and planning to delivering visible improvements in Hartlepool’s communities.

“Local people have told us clearly what matters to them. Now we want communities and organisations to come forward with ambitious ideas that can improve the places people use every day, whether that is a park, a beach, a community building or an important neighbourhood space.”
Applications for the first funding round of funding are invited under two key priorities.
The first is to enhance and generate activity in parks, public spaces and beaches, while the second focuses on community assets and neighbourhood spaces.
Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council Councillor Dave Bruce said: “I would encourage local groups and organisations to think boldly, bring forward strong ideas and make the most of this opportunity.
“This is about investing in places, but more importantly it is about investing in people and pride in Hartlepool. We want to see projects that make a genuine difference, strengthen communities and leave a positive legacy for years to come.”
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday, November 30. For details go to www.hartlepool.gov.uk/prideinplace
