Hartlepool food banks: Places offering support and where you can make a donation

A number of food banks and community projects are operating in and around Hartlepool to support the town’s most vulnerable.

We have taken a look at some of the places supporting families in Hartlepool and the surrounding areas – and some of the places you can also contact if you wish to make a donation.

Hartlepool Foodbank: Church Street.

The Trussell Trust food bank has its main distribution centre at Church Street, and is open between 11.30am and 1.30pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Hartlepool Foodbank also has a warehouse at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre. It’s open between 10am and 12pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Billingham & Stockton Borough Foodbank: West Precinct, Billingham.

According to the Trussell Trust, the food bank operates from four centres – two in Stockton, one in Billingham and one in Norton.

The centre at West Precinct, Billingham, is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am and 2pm.

In Norton, the centre is at St Michael & All Angels Church, Imperial Avenue. It’s open between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

St Aidan’s Kitchen: St Aidan’s Church, Oxford Street.

As well as collecting items for those in need, the kitchen is open every Thursday – currently between 9:30am & 11:30am – providing food for people who are hungry, homeless, or in any kind of need.

Meals are served from the main doors of St Aidan’s Church.

Hartlepool Food Network: Hartlepool Action Lab, Northgate

The network collects fresh food from a number of partners and re-distributes it to people through a network of volunteer drivers and agencies.
