Co-ordinator Lisa Lavender said the food bank is coping remarkably well considering the restrictions on everyone’s movements and they have been overwhelmed with generous support and offers of help.
Talking of the new link up with British Gas she said: “It has been really good. Tuesday was our first day and went without any hiccups.
“It means that people don’t have to worry about coming outside if they are anxious and food is being taken to them which minimises the risk for everybody.

Lisa said people have continued to give cash, including anonymous donations, and supporters bringing cars filled with food.

Lisa added: “I’m not surprised at the level of support we are seeing but it has been overwhelming.

Lisa said the lockdown has seen some users requiring more than one food parcel at a time due.

“I don’t think we have seen the true picture yet,” said Lisa.
