Lewin Tubuna did it with three days of the month to spare and gathered in £2,400 for Alice House Hospice.

His final push saw him complete a six-mile walk today and mum Lynsey said: “We are extremely proud of Lewin. He has got up and walked each day, and put the effort in.

"He has hit around the £2,400 mark now once we collect all sponsor money in.”

But determined Lewin is no stranger to fundraising.

In 2016, he raised £1,800 for Miles for Men by doing a 10-mile sponsored bike ride on his eighth birthday.

Two years later on his 10th birthday, Lewin raised more than double his initial target of £2,500 when he rode from Whitehaven in Cumbria back to Hartlepool.

He did it on behalf of Alice House Hospice and won the hearts of supporters who followed his progress on social media.

Lynsey said: “Once Lewin sets his mind on something there’s no stopping him! He has gad a lot of support from family and friends who have been out walking with him.

"He has completed his 100 miles and although he didn’t hit his target of £3,000 he is really happy with the amount raised for Alice House Hospice.”
