The Little Stars Day Nursery is holding a fundraising event to support Noah Griffiths whose family are hoping to treat him with a trip to Disneyland in Paris.

Children, aged from birth to eight years old, will dress in Halloween costumes for a fancy dress day at the nursery in Kilmarnock Road on Friday, October 23.

Deputy manager Mandy Swift said Noah was at the nursery himself and staff recently saw the Hartlepool Mail story on his fight for health.

It is so close to his brain that it can’t be operated on, and although he is receiving excellent treatment from North East doctors, no-one knows yet whether Noah will go blind.

Mandy added: “Noah came to the nursery and he was always a happy child. It would be lovely if we can make a contribution to him going to Disneyland.

"We were having a Halloween party and we decided to do it in aid of Noah. Children will come in fancy dress and we are giving them sponsor forms to take home. Everyone will pay £1.”

Noah’s friends and family are fundraising to get him to Disneyland in Paris. His mum Abbieleigh Griffiths shared the family’s story with the Hartlepool Mail.

She previously said: “Because he has an inoperable tumour, the main concern right now is that he could lose his sight and family and friends are trying to raise funds to get us to Disneyland.

"After Noah’s tumour and all his chemo, this would be a real treat for him.”

Just over two months ago, Noah had a seizure and was rushed to hospital for tests including MRI scans.

By complete coincidence, the tests also showed up a totally unrelated tumour on Noah’s brain. He is now having chemotherapy treatment every Friday for a year.

Close family friends Donna Sweeney and her daughter Janine Cantwell are spearheading the fundraising. Find out more at the Noah’s Superhero Journey Facebook page.
