Hartlepool man smashes his sunshine cycle challenge and now he's planning another fundraiser

Joe Robinson who smashes his charity challenge and is already thinking of doing another one.

As the temperatures soared last week, the Hartlepool man got on a static bike outside his home to pedal from 10am to 6pm on Friday.

Joe decided he wanted to go further than just clapping for carers and set himself a £300 target from his bike ride.

He smashed that and told the Mail today: “I am near £600 raised but money is still coming in. I will be doing other things in the future.”

Joe’s probable next challenge is to raise money for the campaign to help people who have had a stroke.

Joe, 32, decided he wanted to do more than just clap for carers, and he wanted to raise money for the heroes who were helping to save lives across the North East during the pandemic.

So he and his partner Gemma Shires, 26, decided on a fundraiser with an initial target of £300. Joe plumped for a static ride on a bike positioned outside his house.

Joe smashed the first fundraising target within the first few hours of cycling and was rapidly heading towards £500 half way through his cycle ride.

His total today stood at just under £600 on his fundraising page HERE.

He thanked everyone who had supported his efforts and especially Gemma who had made sure he had food and water throughout the challenge.
