Hartlepool road to partially reopen to traffic following structural concerns over house
and live on Freeview channel 276
A short stretch of the road, north of its junction with Oakland Avenue, was closed in both directions and diversions put in place by the council amid concern over the structural condition of a house, with part of it to reopen tomorrow, Friday, November 6.

Hide AdCouncil officials have now taken the decision to re-open the far side of the road, opposite the house in question, after the owner took action to resolve their immediate concerns.
Priority will be given to vehicles heading towards Oxford Road.
He is building a two-storey extension at the back of the semi-detached house and was served an unsafe building notice by the council, which said the closure would remain in place until its concerns were addressed.

Hide AdThe council granted planning permission for the extension three years ago.
Kieran Bostock, assistant director of place management at the council, today said: “I am pleased that we are in a position to partially re-open the road and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and the owner of the property for working with us to resolve our immediate concerns.
“Inspections of the property remain on-going and once we are satisfied that the entire building is stable we will re-open the road completely.”
