St Mary’s Church in Durham Street on the Headland invited worshippers on lockdown to celebrate Palm Sunday by putting a special display on their front doors or in their windows.
It had a great response with people taking pictures and sharing them on St Mary’s Facebook page.
Church member Bernadette Malcolmson said it was a great way for people to come together despite not being able to celebrate the day together for the first time ever.
St Mary’s said: “What a wonderful witness to our faith and visual reminder to each one of us of the Holiest of weeks we are now heading towards.
“Thank you to everyone who rose to this challenge and we hope that you all enjoy sharing in each others handiwork!”
