How to get a free doughnut as Deliveroo launches in Hartlepool and where you can order food from in town

The online food ordering service begins in Hartlepool on Thursday, November 28, as part of a nationwide expansion by the company.

Deliveroo, accessed by its smartphone app or website, is partnering with 30 eateries and takeaways by the end of the year ranging from independent restaurants like Agora Turkish and Chilli Cake to well-known high street favourites like KFC and Pizza Hut.

The move is set to create over 50 local jobs in the first year with most being riders who aim to deliver cooked to order food to the customers’ door, desk or even the park, in under 30 mins.

Harrison Foster, Deliveroo’s regional director in the UK, said: “Launching in Hartlepool is a key milestone for Deliveroo.

“Hartlepool has a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants, so we’re excited to connect them.

“We look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses.

“Deliveroo will also create work for 50 local riders and are thrilled to offer a flexible role to the community.”

The Hartlepool launch is part of a nationwide expansion into a further 50 UK towns and cities this summer and autumn and to be available to over half the population by the end of the year.

To celebrate, Deliveroo is giving away hundreds of free doughnuts around the town centre on Saturday, November 30.

It is also giving customers 25% off orders of at least £20 when they pay with Visa at selected participating restaurants for the next four weeks.

Customers can schedule orders up to one day in advance using the Deliveroo app or receive food as soon as possible between 5pm and 11pm on weekdays and 11.30am and 11pm on weekends.
