That’s the question we put to Mail readers on Facebook this week, with hundreds of people casting their votes in our poll.
A total of 65% voted that more restrictions should remain in place for those classed as extremely vulnerable by the NHS and Government; particularly those in the over-70s category.
This is what you said on the Hartlepool Mail Facebook page:

Hide AdTracy Trench: “I think this age group should be given the credit they deserve. They are more than capable of being responsible for their own safety. Only those who are unable to make responsible decisions such as those suffering from Alzheimer's should have these rules enforced.”
Trevor Craddy: “Absolutely not! I'm in my 70s. Old enough and hopefully wise enough not to do anything stupid once restrictions start easing. From the poll results so far, ageism is alive and thriving. We're not all sitting in a chair drooling.”
David Forrest: “Considering around 90% of serious cases are over 60, it would make sense to take extra precausions. stats show that as unfortunate that it is, over-70s are at severe risk of complications.”
Kathleen Verrall: “Depends on the individual! Some 70-year-olds can give younger ones a run for their money! Many would not like to be made housebound!”

Carol Wake: “No, they have had no help and been left on their own.”
Alan Pinder: “Keep us all on 'lockdown' for the 12 weeks our vulnerable have been asked to isolate. Italy are just coming out after just short of 12 weeks. It's doable and roughly coincides with furlough. Then reassess from there.”
Charles Masey: “A definite no from me lots of over-70s who are fit and well.”
