Man arrested after Hartlepool drugs bust uncovers nearly £500,000 of cannabis

The discovery of the plants came after members of the local community reported concerns regarding alleged drugs activity at a property in Hartlepool’s Raby Road.
Cleveland Police officers swooped on the building on Wednesday, November 18, and found 500 plants.

Hide AdA 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and he remains in police custody.
Neighbourhood Inspector Martin Skirving-Chehab said afterwards: “Today’s discovery of 500 cannabis plants shows the local community that we do act upon their information and we are tackling drugs activity in the town.
"This haul of drugs will no longer make it onto the town’s streets and one male is currently in police custody.”
